So, when I have MY world - I vote for NO CAVITIES, NO DENTAL WORK - What do you think? Tuesday I went to the dentist for one filling and the placement of the post for a dental implant. Woke up Tuesday morning at 5:00 a.m. with a migraine - somehow a migraine and dental work don't fit together - so I took a pill - a great pill - by 9:30 am the headache was "almost" gone - note the "almost" Enter "HAPPY GAS" As the room was spinning and I couldn't tell you my name and I could not manage to keep my eyes open - the dentist says, "Let me tell you about this implant. As it is on the upper jaw, the bone is not thick enough to hold the entire implant, so it will need to go up into your sinus cavity. Now we don't want to perforate the sinus membrane - so we will just drill as far as we can and then take this little instrument (ice pick) and tap the bone with this (hammer) until it breaks through the sinus. Now - this isn't going to hurt!" Of course I was too zoned to say STOP! It was true that it didn't hurt - yet. But the sounds and the reverberation and the echo - imagine dynamite exploding in your sinus. Worst thing I can every remember. I then had a headache that I was not able to get rid of until Thursday afternoon. I finally had to get a shot at the clinic - come home and sleep for about 14 hours and then it finally went away. Two days past that, now my mouth feels like I had dental work done. And so if it won't upset the cosmos or change all of the eternities I plan on there being NO BAD TEETH on my worlds.Saturday, January 24, 2009

WOW, I am so sorry. It made both my head hurt and my mouth hurt just reading this. I also would prefer not to have dental work done. I think it was the only time I have actually experienced a panic attack. I was sitting in a dentist chair having a root canal. I had to talk myself out of actually screaming. No fun at all.
Me too! For NO DENTAL PROBLEMS! I can usually ignore pain in my foot or my hip! They are far enough away from my brain for me to separate them. But TOOTH PAIN is brain pain and so is a HEADACHE!!!
Every time I have been in the Dentist's chair in the last 3 years he has said, "Now...How many teeth should we work on today? Do you want to do one side or the other or would you rather do upper or lower?" Sorry, but that IS NOT funny!
Needless to say, my cavities aren't all filled at this time... My dry mouth just keeps causing them and I have had all the DENTIST I can tolerate for now.
Sorry, Debbie, I hope there is only one of those and it is all over by now! Love you, Cindy
That sounds horrible. Drilling and sinus cavity? That's crazy, my mom just had to have an implant yesterday. She was hurting. So I can't imagine having to go even further! Feel better!
Oh Debbie, that stinks. I am so lucky to have good teeth, but I sympathize with those that don't. I know Jason's definately had issues and I'm resigned to the fact that we need to save up for veneers. There are many things I will change in "our world" to come. I'm mostly thinking in the pregnancy department as I am going through it all right now, but I'm sure I could come up with an entire list.
